Kevin’s legal practice focuses on advising private companies on corporate governance, financial transactions, contractual agreements, and exit strategies across multiple industries, vertical spaces, and technology sectors. These clients range from newly formed to mature late-stage private companies. Kevin also represents and advises venture capital funds and individuals on investments in these same types of companies. Kevin acts as an external corporate counsel to many of his clients, counseling and assisting them on legal matters involving employment, intellectual property, contractual, tax, corporate governance, and securities law.

Kevin has extensive knowledge in matters of corporate representation, including formation of new companies, corporate governance, complex debt and equity financing transactions (including venture capital equity financing and convertible debt transactions), mergers and acquisitions, securities regulation, employment agreements, intellectual property development and protection, and commercial agreements. Kevin’s combination of legal and prior business experience enables him to advise his clients more effectively on strategies and solutions that prioritize business goals while balancing legal risks and obligations.

Prior to joining Acceleron Law Group LLP, Kevin was a Senior Associate in the Palo Alto offices of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati PC, one of the premier Silicon Valley law firms representing venture capital and emerging growth companies. Before joining WSGR, Kevin also practiced corporate law as an associate in each of the Palo Alto offices of Shepard Mullin Richter and Hampton LLP, and Lowenstein Sandler LLP.

Before pursuing his legal career, Kevin managed the development, launch, and product roadmaps of several innovative products and services at multiple Silicon Valley start-ups and public companies, including Shutterfly and Yahoo!. Kevin has worked with industry luminaries such as Jim Clark, John Sculley, and Louis Borders, and interacted with all functional groups and senior management at the companies he has worked at. Kevin holds three patents for innovations in user interface design and search algorithms.

Kevin works to help give back to the community. Kevin served as a board member of the non-profit Parent’s Education Network prior to its merger with the Children’s Health Council. Kevin has provided legal support and assistance to individuals applying for immigration status under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and attended multiple legal clinics to provide legal advice to the underprivileged. Kevin was the recipient of a pro-bono award for his work while at Lowenstein Sandler.

Kevin is a fifth-generation California native, having grown up in Southern California but resided in Northern California for most of his life. Kevin lives in the San Jose area with his wife, two daughters, two dogs, and two cats. When Kevin isn’t practicing law, he may be racing his car at a local racetrack or injuring himself while working on his latest home improvement project.
